Wear Something Spar-Kylie

Love them or hate them, the Kardashians are above the rest when it comes to advertisement. Personally, I'm a fan of both the family and Keeping Up(...) so when I saw that they were releasing a collection with Nicole by OPI I was excited.

I considered lenawhite.co.uk however their delivery options weren't for me so when I found out that asos.com were selling them I ordered straight away. Plus asos sell them 50p cheaper and there's free delivery! :) You can find them here (wear something spar-kylie is sold out but there are 5 more to choose from!)

I decided to get 'Wear Something Spar-Kylie', Kylie Jenner's polish. Although Kendall and Kylie aren't strictly Kardashians, they are two of my favourite from the family (along with Bruce and Khloe!)

This is my first Nicole by OPI polish, infact my first OPI polish. Before, I was a Barry M addict but things may change.

It's a Barbie pink glitter with light pink and darker pink glitter bits. I was impressed with the application - not too thin and not too thick. It applied like a dream! I used my Barry M base coat under and on top of it, waited for it to dry (which was literally minutes), then had a shower and washed my hair! As I'm writing this, 24 hours later, it's still perfect. Of course, there's slight tip ware but if you weren't looking at them closely, you wouldn't notice. I've seen reviews saying that it chipped quickly but I can honestly say that it hasn't budged through a shower and a whole day of college.

Super impressed - my new favourite thing! :D 9/10 (would have been a 10, if it wasn't for the [over] price)

I am lusting over Follow Me on Glitter now, it looks like a silver grey glitter and if it's as good as Wear Something Spar-Kylie then I'll be well and truly converted to OPI!

Christmas Gifts

Hello! Sorry I haven't blogged for ages, I've been super busy *cliche* Find out what I've been doing at the end!

I thought a good way to start blogging, and to start the new year would be to show you some of the gifts I received for Christmas of which I am very grateful and thankful for :) I was going to include my December favourites however most of my Christmas presents are what I would have included.

I also received MAC's Big Bounce eyeshadow in 'Impeccably Rich'. I'd never heard of it before and I was excited to see what it was like.

Although it's beautiful, it doesn't suit me. I feel guilty because I won't use it so I've decided to sell it on ebay in the near future. I'll let you know, if you're interested, when it goes up.

I've been away for the latter part of 2011 and my absence was mainly due to college work. I turned 17 in May and started learning to drive... and on December 1st I passed my test with 2 minors woop! Still looking for a car though :(

I never make New Years Resolutions but I have a few 'aims' in mind, one of them being blogging and more specifically outfit posts! I've always wanted to do them, but never made the effort but I'm sure that will change :)

This lipstick was quite popular when it came out. It's 146 and it's a bright fuchsia pink and to be honest I hardly ever wear it. However it does bring out the blue in my eyes which I love.

It was my 17th (still not changed 16 to 17 in my description :$) on Wednesday and these are my presents, and some things I bought.

Vidal Sassoon Limited Edition Union Jack Straightener, No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser, Revlon Colorstay, Aussie Colour Mate Shampoo, Aussie Gel Spray, Aussie Hairspray.

I asked for the straightener after seeing Sara's video (swalkermakeup on youtube). I had my old Babyliss ones for around 3 years so, at ~~£49.99~~ £14.99 I grabbed a bargain at Argos.

I've been wanting the hot cloth cleanser for forever and I finally got it! Every time I've had a £5 off voucher they've all been sold out. Next on my list in the No7 blending brush.

A repurchase of colorstay because I love it so much, I was struggling with an empty bottle until I got this which wasn't fun!

Lastly 3 Aussie products. I'm a big fan of Aussie and I've had countless bottles of shampoo and hairspray before, but I've never tried the gel spray (sea salt spray) before :)

I also got a few bits and bobs like chocolate, a My Chemical Romance t-shirt and my provisional license which came on my birthday, where I had a driving lesson the day after which went well :)

Sorry for not being around much. On top of lack of inspiration I'm in the midst of exams. I don't like it when people say they're giving up for a while for exams because I can't believe anybody can do nothing but study for say a month straight. You need a break, and in my breaks I will blog :)

I was glued to Radio 1's Big Weekend all weekend but especially Sunday. Not for Lady Gaga (although she was awesome) but if you didn't know I am a huuge fan of My Chemical Romance so I was excited that they were in the same country as me! :)

Barry M-onday #3

Barry M Mushroom is this week's pick of colour. Granted, it's not the most summery colour, but i love it all the same :) I got this as a birthday present nearly a year ago when it first came out! Back then there was no hype and I wasn't keen on the colour at all, but once people were jumping on the bandwagon I slowly warmed to it. However I do like to mix some white to make it lighter because I feel it's a bit dark on it's own.

It's my birthday next week and I'm struggling with what to ask for, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? They would be very helpful! :)

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner Review

This is a fairly new product that's come out from Maybelline. I've been using it for around a week and a half and I love it!

What Maybelline say:
- Designed to give an intense black line
- The long-lasting gel formula means up to 24 hour hold
- Easy to apply with the brush which is included
- You can create different looks and intensities with this one product

For once, it actually lives up to all of these points. The staying power is incredible and there is no need to set it with eyeshadow. I love the brush that comes with it - it's my new favourite. I've washed it already and no sign of any fall out, so for a small brush it's doing well! With that, the brush is amazing for making any kind of line you want. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to impressive flicks and wings so I just stick with what I know :)
The only thing I'm worried about is how long it'll last before drying out. I know Mac fluidline dries up quickly, and the lid for the Maybelline eyeliner doesn't seem too secure. Nevertheless I will definately repurchase this. It costs £7.99 which is reasonable considering Mac fluidline is £13.50 (3g).

5 stars at the moment, depending on how long it keeps until it dries out :) I'll keep you posted.

I have no idea where this week has gone. The second long weekend in a row was lush though! Can't believe the Royal Wedding was only Friday (yes I had to get the RW in there some where ;) #justsaying)

Here I'm wearing the famous Pink Flamingo. It's sheer as you can see my nail underneath, but that's partly the flash from the camera too. It's a great colour for the colour blocking trend this season, I'm looking at it now and it's actually really fluorescent!

I've decided to start a new series called Barry M-onday. Every Monday I'll do a NOTD post featuring Barry M. I have quite a lot, and I'm constantly adding to my collection so it should last a while.

I've given my nails a break over the winter, but now that it's Spring and the sun is out I thought Mint Green would be the perfect colour to start off with:

I recently won Anna's (TheStyleDiet) giveaway of the Phosphor watches! I wasn't expecting it at all, as I usually don't win anything, but it just goes to show that you have to be in it to win it. I know so many people who don't bother entering giveaways and competitions because they think they're unlucky and won't win, but that clearly isn't the case. If you didn't enter, then you most definately will not win. Fact. So, unless you have to do something other than writing a little comment, there is no harm in entering for a chance (even if it is a slight chance) to win! I was 1 in 2,206 so it can happen people!

I won a Phosphor watch with Swarovski crystals, in and around it. It's pretty clever actually because where the numbers turn into crystals and vice versa - I'm sure there's a more technical explanation for it! :P The box it came in is absolutely beautiful, it's so sleek and well made.

I'm not a big bag person, I might have about three, then two satchels for college.

My bag changes all the time depending on where I'm going, but this is what's in it at the moment:

Bag: Primark (£5-£7) Purse: Primark, Phone, Pen, Aviator Sunglasses, Headphones, Inhaler, Impulse, Mirror, Paracetamol

I'm also not on the Blackberry/iPhone bandwagon, I don't even have an ipod D: Music is my life so that will change. Soon.

I don't carry that much because I hate having a heavy bag, and to tell the truth I don't go out that much :P

A Guide To Shopping

I had this idea in the middle of the night actually - it's strange where some ideas come about haha! So I managed to make a-half-asleep mental note on it and thought I'd share my tips on a successful shopping trip, preventing breaking the bank!

Before:

#1 Make a list with things you essentially need and budget your money. Then set aside some money for some impulse buys which leads me onto my next tip..

#2 Be realistic with both money and what you buy. Don't set yourself a budget of £10 in Primark, because that's never going to happen is it? :P

#3 It may sound silly but plan your outfit. Especially if it's a busy time (ie New Year sale or Oxford Street Primark) then it's likely to get hot, so wear something light (obviously depends on the weather).

#4 Clear out your bag. Just to make things lighter and when it comes to finding your purse in a busy queue, it won't be too much hassle.

#5 Check you have everything you need - Purse, money, phone.

During:

#6 It's important to know how much money you have to spend, so I always get a certain amount out of the cash point so I know exactly what is in my account, and how much I have to spend. I never pay by card because I know I'd go over the top and spend way to much!

#7 Changing rooms are useful places! Whenever you're buying something expensive too. For example a good pair of jeans, you will want them to fit so it's best to get in-between sizes and see what fits best! It saves having to travel back to return them.

#8 Ask yourself questions when you pick something up:
   Will I wear this?
   Is it worth the money?
   Do I have anything similar?
   (If it's in the sale) Would I buy this full price?
These questions really do help save a lot of money!

After:

#9 Don't throw away any receipts! The amount of times I've found something doesn't fit and I've thrown away the receipt is crazy! It's kind of heartbreaking too knowing you've pretty much thrown money away.

You can definately see the type of colour that is on trend right now. All the browns, and nudes, and also brights are really big. Although I wouldn't necessarily choose to pair a bright yellow top with bright red trousers, I think you can still encorporate brights into accessories such as this watch.
I'm in need of a new pair of sunglasses, and I want some aviators - mirrored preferably. I think they're so summery and go with everything.
As for everything else, they're pretty typical things from me - floral and chino trousers.
You could definately get most of these for at least half of the price at Primark, and with their new S11 collection out, we're spoiled for choice! I think Primark is really stepping it up with the type of clothes they are bringing out. Lets just hope that it is the same case as the prices!

In the nude

This is Avon's 'nailwear pro' in 'perfectly flesh'. It's a lovely nude with a peach undertone - very wearable! It's actually my sisters and after some gentle persuasion ;) she let me use it.

I haven't painted my nails since the beginning of this year hence why there have been no nail posts. My nails were getting damaged so for a while I let my nails grow out and they've been a lot healthier so I popped my trusty Barry M base coat on underneath this. So far, it has chipped, but I don't mind because I didn't put a top coat on anyway.

On a completely unrelated note, I've been loving all the Playlist Live footage around Youtube - it's exactly the same stuff but the atmosphere there looked immense. All of the big Youtubers' in one place must have been really special. Also been obsessing over CTFxC and Shaytards as usual, The old video where Charles proposed is the cutest thing ever.

Going to go and have a play with my layout, maybe install a new one, I'm not 100% happy with the blog I have now..

Topshop wants and Topshop gots!

I never know how to start posts, I usually just jump into them but I feel like I should say hello. So, 'hello' haha :)

Thank you so much for all of the comments on my last post. I was overwhelmed with all of them because I didn't think that was the best post that I could do. I need to get a tripod so I can start doing proper outfit posts because I have dslr, and it's not really being used to it's full potential.

I also found out that my college has un-filtered blogger so now I can blog from college in my free time and have more time at home to do revision and work and what not. I can also make use of photoshop to edit my pictures and I'm working on a new blog layout/theme/design which I'll be playing around with this week.

I'm constantly checking Topshop's sale because I always find the best things in the sale. For example (for example?! oh boy I've been doing too much psychology revision) I have 2 cardigans (£10+£15), a crop jumper (£10) 2 vest tops (£4+£8) and now a new jumper (£10) all from the sale. I think it's because Topshop is so expensive, I wouldn't really look for cardigans and tops and other basics that you could get for 3/4 of the price in Primark. I saw this jumper in the sale on the website last week and bought it. The next day the flash sale went up (dammit) but thankfully there wasn't too much that I actually liked.

Hello Mr Sunshine, will you be staying long?

The weather has been so nice lately, it makes me think that this will be the only summer time we'll get. It's been so sunny, but not that warm. Nevertheless it's been helping to get me out of bed in the morning!

I opted for a 'naked' look however unfortunately I don't own the Naked palette, so I made do with my trusty Sleek Storm palette. I also made use of the lipstick I picked up with Glamour in 'Rosette'. It's a 'my-lips-but-better' kind of thing :) I did a stupid thing and forgot to twist it down before popping the lid on, so I have a very mushed up lipstick, but I guess it still does the job :) I also put some of the navy blue colour from the Sleek palette along the lower lash line - looks better in real life, makes my blue eyes look slightly greener :)

Dug out a summery dress that I got 2 years ago maybe from New Look. I'm also wearing my denim-like shirt from H&M. I'd normally wear a cardi or a denim (I always thought it was demin not denim, haha) jacket with it, but I think this works just as well. It's light too :)

Rosy Nose

It's Comic Relief! I love the big show at the end of the night, it's the best!
For the past 2 and a half days I've been tuning into Radio 1 to the Chris Moyles longest show ever appeal. Chris and Comedy Dave had to stay on air for 37 hours non-stop to break Simon Mayo's record. I'm pleased to say they have broken that record and what's more they're staying on until 10:30am (Friday morning) to beat the Guinness World Record of being on air for 50 hours. But the most incredible thing is that through this they've raised over £1,000,000!(As I'm writing this, they are nearly on hour 50 which means they only have 2 to go. I've been addicted, like other to the red button watching them. Twitter has gone mad over this and #r1moremoyles was the number 1 trending topic wordwide!)

Edit: They managed the 50 hours, and they even went on for an extra 2, in which Fearne Cotton announced that if they raised £2,000,000 by a certain time that she would present her show for 10 minutes in her swimming costume. Did they raise 2,000,000 I hear you ask. Hell yes! Infact they raised around £2.4 million pounds! Absolutely incredible! However the Radio 1 website crashed with everyone trying to watch Fearne in her swimming costume. I was at college so I couldn't watch on the red button, but there are loads of highlight videos on the website!

I must say the highlight of this for me was Greg James and The Wanted's live lounge. Before now I hadn't realised how much Greg shouldn't be on radio. By this I mean he should be on tv so I could see his gorgeous face more. haha He also got naked... :) :)

The Wanted did a cover of Animal by Neon Trees, and Nathan, who lives near me did an incredible highnote. Normally he only gets backing stuff but what he did in that song was brilliant. Infact the whole performance was brilliant!

keep calm and carry on

You know when you have those days, or weeks when you feel absolutely crap and like nothing's going right? Well this week was one of them.
I've been constantly tired, even though I go to bed at 10pm every night which has probably taken it's toll on my mood and made this whole week 10 times worse.
I got my result back from my psychology exam and I got a U. I'm not even going to lie, I'm not ashamed, embarrassed or upset because it's given me the kick up the backside I need. I'm determined to do well in all my A levels now, even if it kills me.
I also got my bank statement which I can assure you wasn't pretty. I've decided I'm not going shopping until my birthday (May) but what I am going to have to do is get my hair done. After seeing Simone's post on her new hair colour, and reading her comment on one of my posts, it really helped me decide what I need to do, so thank you!
I've been trying to resist buying a Glamour or two to get some more Clinique things. I get so guilty when I have loads of magazines that I can't easily recycle because I live in the middle of no where so there's nowhere to recycle them!
I have a huge pile of revision to do, as I'm resitting psychology - I've had to re-think my revision techniques because my current one clearly didn't work!

Also all the hope in the world goes out to Japan right now. Makes my problems seem teeny tiny compared to what's happening over there.

Teeny tiny haul & a problem

Boots - Priceless Shoes £12 | Satchel Bag - Primark £6 | Rings - Primark £1.50 | Glamour - £2

A very small haul from last weekend. I hardly go into Priceless Shoes, but I spied these beauties in the sale section. I tried a 7 on, but that was too big. So a 6 it was. I'm normally a 7, so that was weird that they were too big. I've heard loads of people's feet have shrunk, so I'm not complaining - I'd love to be able to fit into a size 6 all the time!
Picked up Glamour and got the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream. There was the moisturiser, but I already have loads of Simple moisturiser to use up. I really want to try the lipstick so hopefully I'll find that somewhere soon :) What free gift did you choose?

I have a problem. I dyed my hair a year and a half ago from blonde to a reddish brown (pre Cheryl Cole frenzy!) I maintained that colour until now but I want to go back to my natural colour - a medium blonde. I figured the regrowth wouldn't look half as bad as what it would if I were to stay this colour. I went to the hairdressers with the intention of them lightening it which to a certain extent they did. They put bleach highlights on the top half of my head, but I that's not what I wanted. Right now my blonde roots are beginning to come through, and soon enough it's going to look a bit silly.
I had the idea of them bleaching the whole of my head, then putting a light brown colour on top. I'm aware of the damage, but I really don't have any other option, do I? Have any of you been from brown to blonde? If so how? I would really appreciate any suggestions!

A boring Saturday afternoon..

I was flicking through tv channels and came across My Parents are Aliens on CITV. It took me straight back to when I was 7 or 8 when I used to watch this all the time.

I must admit I have a weakness for kids tv. Not so much now, because they've changed a lot of things, and brought new things in which will never live up to the golden oldies of the 90s. My Parents are Aliens was the more later programmes. When I was really little I used to indulge in programmes like Come Outside, Teletubbies, TotsTV and Thomas the Tank Engine.

It makes me feel like I don't want to get older. I'm nearly 17 and half way into my A Levels. It's scary to think that it only seems like yesterday that I was starting my first day of secondary school.

I'm scared of the future. Normally I like to plan things well in advance but it feels like I can't see anything beyond Summer 2011. I'm not keen on going to University, even though that's probably what I should do seeing as employment is pretty much non existent at the moment. I think I want to go down the route of journalism/magazines, but it's so competitive, and I've never been one to push myself to achieve my dreams.

Anyway, I can't believe half term is over! I've spent most of the week in bed. I have done some revision/homework - I need all the help I can get if I want to pass my exams. I am looking forward to getting back to college because I love being in a routine. I think I'm a bit OCD about doing things in order and properly.

Sorry for such a lengthy post, I don't normally like writing loads because I'm more of a visual person and I like reading pictures, but I guess it's good once in a while. I hope everyone's having a good weekend. I'm going shopping for some new trainers tomorrow, no doubt I'll make my way into Primark and Topshop, and maybe a sneaky Starbucks, so look out for a haul!

James Corden introduced someone who 'you've never met, but they manage to describe exactly how you felt at a particular moment in your life' onto the Brits stage. A couple of seconds later Adele and a piano were on stage. I can say no more.

I can't stop listening to Someone Like You. It's beautiful. I loved Adele's Brit performance. It was raw, yet so clean. She only needed a piano and herself to embrace her gorgeous voice.

Topshop, H&M and Primark Haul

Do you ever have those days when you go shopping and find absolutely nothing? Well today wasn't one of those days thankfully. I had my bargain-hunting head on and I was determined to find some things.

Topshop Ring - I love this. It's become one of my firm favourites. It was £4.00 but when I got to the till it came up as £1.50! - told you I had my bargain head on ;)

How adorable are these Primark Earrings! £2 what a bloody bargain! I love them!

H&M Earrings £1.99 - Just some everyday ones I can throw in :)

I'm really loving these bracelets. I don't know how to describe them, but they remind me of the bracelets surfers wear and they remind me of summer. I got it from H&M for £1.99. They have loads of colours that I'll probably go back and get.

Topshop Peter Pan Collar Tunic/Dress - £12 I have been looking at this all week on the website, and I'm so glad they had it in the shop. Practically everyone has it, but I love it!

Primark Cardigan - £12 what more can I say? :)

Primark Playsuit - £5 so summery! Before I went to town, I watched Kate from Dollybowbow's haul video and she showed this, so I was pretty happy when I saw it.

H&M demin shirt - £5 This was in the sale and I think it goes perfectly with the playsuit

I'm quite suprised that I didn't buy any makeup. I do that, one day I buy all makeup and no clothes, then the next I buy all clothes and no makeup.

I am a natural dark blonde, but I dyed my hair a dark reddy brown a year and a half ago. Since then I've experimented with different shades of brown, but now, it's time to go back to ~~black~~ blonde.

I haven't been doing anything at all lately. I haven't been motivated to do anything. I think it's because i'm really hating my room at the moment. It's been the same for 4 years (I know that's not too long, but if you think about it, I was 12 when I decorated it, so times have changed quite a bit!) and I have mix matched furniture and I just want everything to have a proper home, instead of it being neglected on the floor! I really want to get my room how I like it by the end of the year (at least).

This is my daily makeup, I know you can't really see it haha (minus the lipstick) I use the shimmery champagne colour from the Sleek Storm Palette and then liquid eyeliner and mascara :) Also I've started using Revlon Colorstay, love it!

I went through a phase of a Fall Out Boy obsession, and today it returned thus my love for Pete Wentz was re-born. He is famously married to Ashlee Simpson and they have a son together, Bronx. They had an Alice in Wonderland themed ceremony and they were married by Ashlee's father at his house.

Gahhh so cute!

One of my other favourite are Joel Madden and Nicole Richie. I really admire Nicole Richie because she has really turned her life around. They have two children, Harlow and Sparro. I watched her on Ellen shortly before her wedding and I love her even more than I did before :) I could do a whole other post on Nicole Richie

I dont know if you can see but she had 'Nicole Richie & Joel Madden' stitched into her dress - what more can I say

Finally, a new one on the scene Katy Perry and Russell Brand. You couldn't escape the headlines about them, I really hope they last.

I ventured out into the freezing cold to one of my bigger local towns to pick out some Christmas pressies, and of course some bits for myself, killing two birds with one stone right?

Cross Stitch Cushion

I often watch Kirsty's Homeade Home on Tuesday nights at 8 o'clock because there's never anything on and it's one of those programmes that 'fills your time' before something good comes on (in my case I'm a celebrity..).

Tuesday's episode was about a couple who want to 'transform their first home into a decorative oasis'. Never mind that, in the middle of the programme Kirsty went to do some cross stitching. I've always been keen on sewing - never had the motivation to do it though, I think it's so relaxing and fascinating how you can make something beautiful out of a needle and thread... She visited Emily Peacock who was a cross stitch junkie lol and she had made this gorgeous cushion with 'kiss' on it:

The only thing I don't like about it is the pom poms around the edge.

This has inspired me to make one of my own. Unfortunately she sells the kits for £49-£100 so I would have to try and interpret it by my self. It may take a month, a year, two years but I'm determined to do it!

I've never done a post like this, as they aren't my favourite types of posts because I don't like reading - i prefer pictures. But I was struggling on ideas, so I thought I would tell you about the psychology trip I went on last week.
I did start taking pictures for a day in the life post, but I needed memory to take snaps from the hypnotist!

I would never be hypnotised incase something went wrong, but a few of my friends did. Only a few were 'susceptable' to be individually hypnotised though. Andrew Newton is fantastic! He is so funny, if he is doing a show near you, I would definately think about going.
The selected 'susceptable' people were made to relax and was being told things like 'you're body feels as though there is no gravity' and 'let yourself totally go' haha. The girl from my college was so relaxed and out of it her head was between her legs!
Hypnotism (is that even a word?!) is scary sh*t, he looked into this girls' eyes and she fell straight to the floor. He then hypnotised the whole group so that he was invisible, and he asked to pick a girl up and he flew her around the room. One girl was so freaked out, it was hilarious.
But the best thing was, 2 total strangers, one being my friend, were hypnotised to cuddle. Bearing in mind they were 2 boys it was hysterical! The one boy was properly snuggling up to him haha. When they were brought out of the 'transe' you should have seen their faces!

The conferance wasn't all about hypnotism, earlier that morning we had several talks on psychology stuff which was boring to be frank. The hypnotist was definately the best part.

I will get onto more beauty related posts soon - it's been ages!

I'm back with my second 'shout out'.

This is Hannah from Made up by Hannah.

She is a dedicated follower of mine, and she always goes out of her way to comment on my recent posts which I am so grateful for :) Her blog is mainly makeup, but there is the odd non-related post. She works for 'the world's number 1 skin care company' in which she writes a lot about in her posts.
The content of her posts is amazing, she gives you detail, but manages to make her posts relitavely short at the same time. She always includes products, and sometimes how to use them.

What you can expect from Made up by Hannah:

I love the content of her posts, and the fact that she puts so much detail into what she's writing about. It really does help, especially if you are interested in the product she is using.

a bad day for nail varnish dupes

When I went shopping, I went into boots to use my no7 voucher to buy the hot cloth cleanser or/and the blending brush. The blending brush was out of stock, and I had no idea the hot cloth cleanser was £9, so I didn't get that because I didn't have £4 on me. I settled for a nail polish. I saw a teal one, then a burgandy one, but I decided on 'betty blues' a dark navy blue colour. Only to find out when I got home it is incredibly similar to Barry M's Navy. Up against all the other nail varnishes on the stand, it looked purple, but after comparing them, they are almost exactly the same. The only thing with Barry M Navy, is that even with a base coat, it stains my nails terribly, so hopefully the no7 won't :) On the nail you can definately see the difference. Betty Blues is much darker, with a hint of blue, whereas navy is, well, navy.

I then went on the hunt for Glamour magazine, (if you don't know the free gift in it this month, then you've been living under a rock) and low and behold I found one with Saville Row in it. I got home, to find it's slightly similar to Barry M's Raspberry. oh dear lol. Saville Row is more of a deep berry colour. Imagine a smoothie with raspberries, strawberrys and blackberrys in it. Raspberry is just raspberries and strawberrys haha :)

I thought I might aswell show you other dupes I have:

There's a huge difference between these two, but for some reason I always think they are really similar. Barry M's is brighter, where Asda's is a pastel blue

There is hardly any difference at all, and the little difference there is between them is really hard to capture on camera. 17 has glitter in it, whereas Barry M hasn't. They are so similar, if you alternated them between each nail you would not be able to tell the difference :)

I have actually seen no one rave about this eyeshadow before! Countless people want a matte black eyeshadow, but don't want to buy a MAC one, but here it is! I couldn't believe that you could get a matte eyeshadow for £1.

I also bought 2 more things, but I'm going to do a seperate post on them, because I was a bit silly when I was choosing the colours.....

Boots Extracts Almond Body Butter

This came in my Boots hamper which I won in one of Lily Loves Lola Giveaways. I've actually never had a body butter before now, just lotions and creams. I've been wanting to get the body shop's one, but I've never had a reason to pay £5 for it.

It comes in a sturdy plastic tub. There is 200ml, and it's so thick, that you need to really dig in to get the product out. Being so thick, you would expect it to sit on the skin, making it greasy. Wrong. It sinks in almost immediately and makes the skin feel smooth and sily. Boots say: 'intensively moisturises and hydrates, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth' they couldn't be more right.
The smell is amazing! Although it's almond, it smells more like coconut to me, which is lush!
The almond oil is organic, and the shea butter that is in it is Fairtrade, which is always good.

It retails for £7.75, which to me is way to overpriced, especially for the bargain of the Body Shop's body butters. Although, I cannot compare, the Body Shop's seem to be really popular, so I may have to try them out and see how they compare.

Overall I give this product 7/10. The price really does let it down, but I suppose you do get a lifetime's (okay, slight exaggeration) worth of product.

Hi everyone :) I've decided to do a fortnightly feature called 'If blogs were songs, they'd be number 1' where I basically give a shoutout to my favourite blogs at that time, or to the blogs that need a bit of a leg up in terms of followers :)

Firstly we have Louisa at louloubellesx3. I've been following her for a long time, and I've seen her blog grow. I love her blog because the layout is clean (so many blogs are cluttered with widgets) and the actual content of her blog is simple short, yet informative, and very easy to read. It's a good all round blog :)

She is currently on 44 followers and she's been blogging around the same time as me, which makes me feel incredibly lucky, and I'd love to share some that luck on to her, because she really does deserve it. This was actually fate. Primark NEVER have my size, which is a ridiculous 7 to 8, so I looked in Shoe Zone, there were some in 8 for £24.99, but they didn't have a 7 and an 8 was a bit big. Something was telling me to go over to Primark, I didnt hold out much hope because my local Primark is pretty rubbish and never has the latest things. But low and behold, there were 3 pairs of these babys left, size 6's and a size 8. We were destined to be together (L)

The entire planet seems to have this ring. They only had larges left, so even wearing it on my thumb its so big, but I love it :)

Maybelline Dream Creamy Foundation, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, Primark Prime of your Life Primer, Primark Happy Couple Blusher/Bronzer, Old Collection 2000 palette - white used, Avon Flirty Eyes 'Butterfly Frost', 17 teal colour, 17 shimmer pencil,Barry M Dazzle Dust, W7 Gel Pencil Eyeliner, L'Oreal Million Lashes, Collection 2000 Magic Length, Red Lipstain (freebie from a magazine), NYX Dolly Eyes Mascara (not pictured)

In the words of Glamour...

Paint a precise line of bright blue eyeshadow over your eye socket. Leave lids nude or add shimmer to create a statement stripe.
Red Lips are essential - either lipstick or a strawberry lip stain
Wear loads of mascara for doll-like lashes

To make it slightly more wearable, I used MAC'S Viva Glam Gaga instead of the red lipstick/stain.

Yes, I bought my first thing from MAC. I've wanted Viva Glam Gaga ever since it came out so it was £12.50 well spent, even though my bank balance didn't appreciate it :P
It was also my first time for Lush, I have no idea why I haven't been in there before, it's heavenly, everyone's so nice :)

I managed to spend more than I bargained for, on things that I didn't need. I was hoping to find a pair of Military Boots in Primark, but all they had was heeled ones. All I have is ballet pumps, and Primark plimsolls, which won't do for the cold and rain :(

I cannot believe that there is only 3 months left of 2010. Where has this year gone?

Anyway, here is my first monthly favourites. Included are:

E45 cream - because the weather has got colder, my skin has lost the moisture. I have really dry skin so this really has been a life saver.

Rimmel Lipstick in Super Sexy - such a wearable, subtle colour. I love it :)

Topshop eyeshadow blending brush - I've been using this at least everyday for blending, or sweeping over a light dusting of colour :)

COLLEGE! - I love the fact I get paid=more shopping:D plus, with my student card I get discouts, wahoooo

L'Oreal Million Lashes Mascara - I love it, it doesn't clump, yet give voluminous volume lol to your lashes.

My H&M elephant earrings - These are gorgeous, can't stop wearing them, so easy to shove on on those late mornings :)

My (old wilko) palette - Some gorgeous taupe-y and natural colours that are really pigmented for 1 or 2 pounds ;D

My Camera! - I LOVE my camera. It's a Nikon D5000 and I got it because I'm taking Photography in college :D

I'm not sure if I like it, may try it out though, see how well it works :)

And I wouldn't pay £8.50 for studs, when I can get them for £1.50 in Primark. As for the necklace, thats completely out of the picture. Ahh well, no harm in dreaming :P

This is the nail varnish I got the other day from George at Asda, their more posh (?lol) range. Basically they have a basic range, and a better range haha.
It cost a whopping £1.53, bargain :D It's number 35, and the name is Frost Bite - how cute? :)
The application is messy. It's quick dry, it really is, so you have to work fast. It's good, but my go-to will always be Barry M.

School Organisation

This is actually my college organisation, but you know :)
I started college last week, and things have been hectic, so sorry for no posts. I always find these kind of things useful, as usually I'm so disorganised, but I'm going to try and be organised :)
I also have my new camera, all these pictures, and future pictures will be taken on it :)

This is my one and only folder. I carry this around, and as I like to call it - 'hugging' haha. It contains a few plastic wallets with my timetable, and loose sheets, and a refill pad. I use the refill pad for the lessons that I haven't brought my project book (because I can't carry all of them in one day). I copy up what I've wrote in that lesson in the project book when I get home.

I have 4 project books for each of my classes. I do not carry these all of the time, because it gets very heavy.

If any of my notes are messy, I will type them up in one of my frees, and stick it in. It makes it much easier to revise, if you have neat notes :)

I don't really have a use for these, but I thought they were cute, and they were only 50p? from Wilkinsons, so why not? :P

Then I just have my planner, that I write homework, assignments, deadlines etc in :)

I will have a NOTD up tomorrow, featuring a new nail polish that only cost £1.50, so look out for that :) Thankyou for reading,

Glamour, it's great for fashion and beauty, among other things. Another favourite of mine is Look. I love this because there are highstreet clothes included there :)

This is difficult. I pretty much love anything current and in the charts. I love Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Cheryl Cole, Neyo, there are loaaaads.

Hmm, probably blush.. or mascara. I don't really need foundation, concealer does the job, and blush brightens up your face so much, but mascara does wonders to your eyes..

I've always lived in the country, so I've always wanted to venture out into the city. I think everyone would want to live somewhere hot, but I'm quite happy with rainy England :)

6. What is your favourite film?
Anything funny, and romantic :)

Back to 7 years old.. and NOTD

I picked up some temporary tattoos from Topshop for £5. They are a dupe for the £80+ Chanel temporary tattoos. Temporary tattoos are a great way of accessorising your body. They are ideal for people who do not want to commit to having something drawn on their skin for the rest of their lives. These remind me of school fetes where you would get them done

and have your face painted, hee :)

The Topshop ones are very similar to the Chanel ones. For £5 and 3 sheets you can't go wrong.

Cut out the design you want to use. Remove the transparent film and place the tattoo face down on your skin.

Wet the tattoo with a damp cloth and make sure the tattoo is wet, but not soaked. Hold the cloth on the tattoo for 30 seconds while the image transfers onto your skin.

Peel the corner of the tattoo gently to check if it has transferred, then carefully lift of the backing paper. To remove any excess glue, wipe over the area gently with warm water.

As you can see, I used the lighter, silver sheet, and it does not show up at all. It would look beautiful on darker skin, but on mine, no.

I did the same heart, but in black on my hand. It came out perfectly...

Barry M Nail Paint 273 Raspberry

It has faded and the bottom has completely rubbed off. This is after washing my hands twice throughout the day (obviously I was my hands more than twice, but this was after the second wash lol). They do not last well at all. Unless you want to avoid washing the area that you have put the tattoo on, then it's a bit of a waste of time. But these would be perfect for fancy dress. I've seen on eBay, you can buy Amy Winehouse temporary tattoos which would be good if you were dressing up as her.

I still love these tattoos, they're great if you want a bit of a change.

On my nails is Barry M 273 Raspberry. It's a gorgeous deep, well.. raspberry colour haha. I've neglected this colour through the spring/summer, and I only usually wear it in the transition from summer to autumn/winter.

I collected my GCSE results earlier, and I did as expected, and better. 4 As, 3 Bs, and 3.5 Cs. I was suprised with one grade, I had to resit it because I got a D at the start of the year, and after resitting it, I got a B ;D Thank you to everyone who wished me good luck, I think you helped! :D

Hot or Not: Matte Nails

I'm really not feeling them. They remind me of a blackboard, and the sound, and the feeling you get when you scrape your nails down it.. eew :( hahaha I'm sure this is not the case, and I'll probably be buying Rimmel's new matte top coat to try it out :)

Hot or Not: Biker Boots

I'm really loving these boots at the moment. I don't usually go for the whole rock-chic style, but these, you can wear with anything.

I have my eye on these beauties from Primark's new Autumn/Winter collection. I'm not sure about the heel though, and I don't know if I'll be able to get them because 1. I have size 7 feet(lol) and 2. I don't live close to a big enough Primark to sell them. hmm, :)

Can Primark and Topshop Make You Beautiful?

Primark

Prime Of Your Life Face Primer

I have this in ‘in the pink’. It’s a very pink toned moisturiser-like formulation. This helps to counteract dark under eye circles. It goes on the face smooth, and leaves the skin feeling refreshed.
I wouldn’t say this is good for oily skin, as this is super dewy and moisturising. It is also a very good highlight. You can use it to create a highlight on the cheekbones using a stippling motion. It also brightens up tired looking eyes.
I believe it comes in at least 2 different shades, although I didn’t stop to look at them.
It is hypoallergenic and you get a whole 12ml for £3.
I don’t require a heavy coverage foundation, so I like wearing this on its own, on top of my moisturiser. I tried it under my Maybelline Dream Creamy foundation, and to be honest, it didn’t really do anything that my moisturiser wouldn’t do. But what do you expect for that price?
It is an excellent product if you have very dry skin, and require extra moisture.

Ta Ta For Now Concealer

Like the face primer, this is hypoallergenic, like most products that Primark sell.
I have this in light, and as far as I know it comes in Light, Medium and Dark. There are handy instructions on the back of the Benefit-style box.
I am really impressed with this concealer. For £2.50, you get a good coverage, good colour to match skin tone concealer. It lightens undereye circles, and lasts throughout the day.
Its hygienic, because it is in a pen style, where you click the bottom, and the product comes through the brush. This way, you use the right amount of product, and for me, two clicks do both eyes, around the nose and any blemishes I may have.
It is also pretty good as an eye shadow base, although not as good as its purpose, as a concealer.
For people starting out in makeup, people who don’t need such a heavy duty concealer, people on a budget, or for people simply wanting to try something new, this is a great option.

Pink Kabuki

I was instantly drawn to this, as its hair is bright pink. It also comes in purple and is fantastic value at £1.50.
The hair is incredibly soft, and dense that blends foundation remarkably well. It doesn’t pick up powder quite so well, but for a light dusting, its perfect.
It is good for bronzer and general buffing. There’s not much to say about this, it’s a good all round brush, with no signs on shedding.
I have had good experience with Primark brushes, I have an eye shadow and a foundation brush that I got in a Christmas set, and they have survived since then, with several washes.

Happy Couple Duo Bronzer/Blusher

From all the products I got, this has to be my least favourite. I bought it with high expectations, especially after hearing such good things. I was even more excited when it was on sale for £1.
The bronzer is patchy, and very orange. It’s hard to swirl the brush around, and when the brush comes out, there is very little product that has come out. As for the blush, its better, but its staying power is 0. It’s a pretty colour but it doesn’t stay.
Both are packed with shimmer, so you have to be careful when you apply this. I don’t want to be a grouch, but I really don’t like this product. Some people love it, but it’s just not for me.

Topshop

Topshop ‘Eyeshadow Brush: Blend’

Topshop Says: brush with natural hair for blending, coutouring and creating smokey eye effects

I am more than happy with this brush, especially for the £4 price tag. I jumped at getting this as soon as I saw it.
There were other brushes, such as powder, eyeliner and lip brushes, but I thought I would start with this one. But I will definitely be going back to buy some more :)
The hair is soft, and blends eye shadow easily and smoothly. The only downfall that this brush has is that it sheds. After I bought it i noticed a few stray hairs in the bottom of the packet. Since, there hasn’t been too much hair fall out, but it made me wary.

Topshop Blush 'Pinch'

Topshop Says: Lightweight cream to powder blush that melts into the skin giving a natural luminous, radiant finish.
Dot on and blend lightly across the apples of your cheeks, to give a healthy, radiant look.

I couldn’t say it better myself. This blush lives up to all the hype that it has been given. Topshop is exactly right when they say it’s lightweight and that it gives a radiant finish.
Although, in the pan, it looks frightening, with a careful amount of product on your finger/brush, it blends into something really natural looking.
At £6 this will last you a long time. It’s pigmentation is outstanding, meaning you use minimal product.
I have nothing to fault on this. The packaging and the product are great. Worth all £6.
